We are pleased to share with you that Zenith recently upgraded its rating of both the Allan Gray Australia Equity Fund and the Stable Fund to its highest rating, ‘Highly Recommended’.

These strong ratings are testament to our highly focused contrarian investment approach that we have used in Australia for over twelve years, which has enabled our Funds to meet their return and risk objectives over the long term. We are extremely proud of the continued hard work and stringent discipline of our whole team, who work together to deliver on our purpose of building long-term wealth for our clients.

When making an assessment on the Allan Gray Australia Equity Fund, Zenith said that the team’s broad skillsets give rise to unique perspectives and as such Zenith “believes the Fund is well placed to meet its investment objectives.”

The Allan Gray Australia Stable Fund uses the same contrarian approach, but its default position is to have 100% of its portfolio invested in cash and money market instruments. The Fund then adds shares that the manager believes offer a significantly better total return than cash with limited downside. The Fund can never have more than 50% invested in shares. Zenith stated that the limited constraints on the portfolio are intuitive and “takes confidence from the fact that Allan Gray has a strong long-term track record of managing similar strategies, thereby exhibiting the discipline that is needed to implement a contrarian investment style.”
